Procedure
Clean the joint area thoroughly, maximum strengths are achieved if the joint clearance does not exceed .003 inches. Paint UNI-1000 flux on parts before assembly. Use jigs and fixtures to maintain alignment. With a slight carburizing flame heat parts broadly until flux becomes clear and fluid. Melt a small amount of alloy in the joint. Continue heating until a fillet has been formed on both sides of the joint. Keep torch in constant motion. Allow part to cool slowly. Remove flux residue with warm water.
