| Procedure |
| Clean
the joint area thoroughly, maximum strengths are achieved if
the joint clearance does not exceed .003 inches. Paint UNI-1000
flux on parts before assembly. Use jigs and fixtures to maintain
alignment. With a slight carburizing flame heat parts broadly
until flux becomes clear and fluid. Melt a small amount of alloy
in the joint. Continue heating until a fillet has been formed
on both sides of the joint. Keep torch in constant motion. Allow
part to cool slowly. Remove flux residue with warm water. |
